The Step-by-Step Path

1. Placement
Placed during a brief 15-minute outpatient visit. You simply swallow a capsule containing the deflated balloon attached to a thin tube.
2. Inflation
Once in the stomach, x-rays confirm placement. The balloon is then inflated with 550ml of liquid, and the tube is gently removed.
3. Removal
No surgery or endoscopy needed. After approximately 16 weeks, a time-activated release valve opens, allowing the balloon to empty.
4. Natural Exit
